PawStatus tells people when something happens, by webhook and by email. Both are sent when:

  • an incident is opened, updated or resolved, and
  • maintenance is scheduled and when it starts.

Both need the panel's queue worker to be running.

Webhooks

In Settings > Notifications, put one URL per line.

  • Discord webhooks are recognized and sent as a colored embed with the title, message, affected components and a link to the page.
  • Slack webhooks are recognized and sent as a short message with a link.
  • Any other URL receives a JSON document.

A webhook cannot point at a private or reserved address, such as 127.0.0.1 or a 10.x.x.x address, so it cannot be used to reach services inside your own network. Turn on Allow private addresses as targets in Settings only if you really need it. Webhooks also do not follow redirects.

Press Send a test message to try your webhooks without waiting for an incident.

The JSON payload

json
{
  "event": "incident.opened",
  "title": "Node Frankfurt is down",
  "status": "investigating",
  "message": "We are looking into it.",
  "components": ["Frankfurt"],
  "url": "https://status.example.com",
  "time": "2026-10-14T03:13:52+00:00"
}

event is one of incident.opened, incident.updated, incident.resolved, maintenance.scheduled, maintenance.started and test. status is the incident status (investigating, identified, monitoring or resolved) or maintenance. Only components shown on the public page are listed.

Email subscriptions

When Email subscriptions is on, visitors see a form on the page.

  1. A visitor types an email address.
  2. They receive a message with a link to confirm it. Nobody is subscribed until they confirm (double opt-in).
  3. From then on they get an email for each event above. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Emails go out through the panel's own mail settings. The form is rate limited to five attempts per minute per visitor.

In Settings > Subscribers you can see how many people are subscribed, and remove any of them.

Turning things off

  • Webhooks: empty the list.
  • Email: switch Email subscriptions off. The form disappears from the page.
